Running for the RP Group Board

Information on running to serve on the RP Group board.

The RP Group accepts applications for at-large members of the RP Board in the spring of each year. Joining the RP Board gives you an opportunity to learn about big-picture issues that are shaping the California community college system. Working with a network of leaders both within RP and through strategic partnerships, you can help to strengthen institutional effectiveness, cultures of inquiry and student success.

RP Group board members serve a number of roles for the organization including:

  • providing guidance regarding the organization’s strategic direction
  • advising on research projects
  • organizing professional development activities
  • developing resources and templates related to research, planning and assessment
  • building relationships with various constituencies to encourage the use of evidence in decision-making

Terms run for two years and require attending three face-to-face meetings (travel costs are reimbursed) each year, plus involvement in organizational activities.

Board members are not limited to institutional research and planning staff – we are also seek faculty, administrators and student services professionals who are engaged in evaluation and assessment work.

Profiles of board applicants are sent out to member institutions in May and results are announced in June.

Please contact Board President Michelle Barton or Executive Director Kathy Booth with questions.
